How to verify a redacted PDF Use Omitly's Verify feature to check the embedded, tamper-evident audit report on any redacted PDF — the verdict, the document hashes and the seal — entirely on your own machine. How Omitly removes text permanently A black box over text is not redaction — the words survive underneath. Omitly deletes the underlying text and image data in each redacted region, then re-checks that nothing recoverable is left. Getting started
- Install Omitly on macOS Download, open and run Omitly on your Mac — Apple silicon or Intel. It installs like any other Mac app and works fully for 14 days before you add a licence.
- Install Omitly on Windows Download and run Omitly on Windows, including the "isn't commonly downloaded" warning Windows shows for new releases and how to check the installer is genuinely ours.
- System requirements What Omitly needs to run — a supported operating system, some disk space, and nothing else. No account, no internet connection to redact.
- Your first redaction Open a PDF, mark what to remove, and produce a redacted copy with its audit report — start to finish in a few minutes, all on your machine.
- Omitly plans: Personal and Pro What's included in each Omitly plan, and how licensing works — a one-time Pro licence with no subscription lock-in.
- Verify your download with a checksum A checksum is a fingerprint of a file. Compare your Omitly installer against the published SHA256SUMS file to confirm the download arrived intact and unaltered.
Redacting
