Omitly won't open

If Omitly won’t launch, work through these in order.
On macOS (Apple silicon)
- First launch after install. Omitly is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it should open directly from your Applications folder with no warning. If macOS (Apple silicon) blocks it anyway, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security (System Preferences → Security & Privacy on Apple silicon Macs running macOS 12 or earlier), scroll to the message about Omitly, and choose Open Anyway — then try launching it again.
- Check the OS version. Make sure your macOS (Apple silicon) meets the system requirements.
- Fully quit and reopen. Quit Omitly (not just close the window) and open it again.
- Reinstall. Download a fresh copy and replace the app in Applications. Your licence and documents are unaffected — the licence re-imports and your files are wherever you saved them.
On Windows
- Finish the download and run the installer. The most common issue happens before Omitly is installed: Edge may say the installer isn’t commonly downloaded. Right-click the warning and choose Keep. If Windows protected your PC appears, choose More info, confirm the publisher is Innisfallen Pty Ltd, then choose Run anyway. See Install Omitly on Windows for the full steps.
- Check the OS version. Make sure you are using a currently supported 64-bit version of Windows. See system requirements.
- Fully exit and reopen. Exit Omitly completely, then launch it again from the Start menu.
- Reinstall. Download a fresh copy and run the installer again. Your licence and documents are unaffected — the licence re-imports and your files are wherever you saved them.
Still won’t open?
Contact support with your Omitly version (if you can get that far), your exact macOS (Apple silicon) or Windows version, and what happens when you try to launch — a message, a bounce in the Dock, or nothing at all.
